The Apprenticeship Funding Program was created for the purpose of providing financial assistance to Connecticut manufacturing companies to support the addition and utilization of Registered Apprenticeships to train and fill critical positions required for stability, continuity, and growth of manufacturing companies. Registered Manufacturing Employers may seek a wage subsidy for their registered apprentices. A single Employer Sponsor can apply for reimbursement for up to four (4) apprentices per year.
Eligible companies can apply for a wage reimbursement of $3,750 for their registered apprentices every six months!

Program Eligibility
All applicants requesting funding must meet the following requirements:
- Must have a Registered Apprenticeship Program as verified with the CT Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship Training.
- Must be seeking wage reimbursement only for Registered Apprentices as verified by the CT Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship Training.
- Must be a manufacturing company registered with the CT Secretary of the State for at least three years.
- Must have no more than 300 employees in Connecticut.
- Must be in good standing with the CT DRS, CT DOL and other relevant state or local agencies.
- Must operate as a for-profit entity with a manufacturing facility located in Connecticut.
- Must be seeking reimbursement for wages paid to registered Apprentices beginning on or after 04/01/22.
- Must provide copy of apprentice YTD paystub.
In order to be considered for funding under the Program, the applicant must satisfy the mandatory elements of the program, the application must be complete, and the use of the funds must be consistent with the goals of the Program.
Eligible Uses
Manufacturing Sponsors may seek a wage subsidy for their registered apprentices. A single Sponsor can apply for reimbursement for up to four (4) apprentices per year. The funds do not need to be repaid by the applicant.
The maximum wage subsidy that can be requested by a Sponsor for any one apprentice over a six-month period is $3,750. The maximum wage subsidy that will be provided for any one apprentice over the full-term of their apprenticeship program will be $15,000.
The maximum wage subsidy that will be provided to any one Sponsor over a six-month period will be $15,000 (4 apprentices @ $3,750 each).
Eligible Costs
- Payroll expenses directly related to compensating a Sponsor’s registered apprentice(s).
Ineligible Costs
- Any expenses associated with the training of an apprentice or in sponsoring an apprenticeship program beyond direct payroll costs.
- Any Apprentice payroll costs incurred prior to 04/01/2022.
